The 70th issue of Uppercase (that's 17 years of publishing!) is dedicated to “practice makes perfect”, as, like effort put in to the magazine's evolution, striving for perfection is often a matter of repetition.

Inside - Meera Lee Patel on how familiarity (and failure) are all part of making something new, Arianne Foulks on growing a business imperfectly and Kerrie Moore on the psychology of circles.

Elsewhere - Janice Vangool introduces the calligraphic work of a selection of artists, there's a look at Pointilism, an introduction to the circle-based compositions of cover artist Elen Delafouge Jones, and there's a selection of circle-based artworks from the readers.

Expect:

Uppercase is put together by Janine Vangool who has a keen eye for contemporary crafts. It is beautifully printed on matte stock and the spine alone is a work of art. A pleasing and collectable publication. While the magazine looks at traditional craft, it is in no way nostalgic, it looks at contemporary applications and champions modern and inspiring craft.
