Harriet Lowther is a Wiltshire-based illustrator. In her bio she states that " I love to draw dogs, animals, plants and interiors" - that dogs heads that list is no surprise - her drawings and illustrations of our canine pals are delightful.
Here is a book stuffed full of beautiful dog studies and portraits; the subjects caught resting, waiting, running, peeping... voting. They're all here too, from the compact and tiny to the tall and willowy - all gently making you laugh while slowly melting your heart. Harriet gets inside these characters (and yes, she does have a dog of her own), imbuing them with personalities that bounce off the page. Sometimes she annotates the images ('look at our faces and give us food', 'please don't make me do stuff'), but in each the eyes and posture do all the talking we need.
If you're a dog person, then this will definitely be for you, if not, this might book might change your mind.
