Divorced, beheaded, died erm... ran away? Sometimes the way information is presented to us can illuminate things, make things explicit and make things stick. sometimes it can be done is such a way as to make the eyes and brain happy at the same time - Monarchy by graphic designer Melissa Price is one such example.
Monarchy takes an infographic look at the British kings and queens and presents us with the family lines, nationalities, religions, coronation details, number of marriages and children and reason for their succession (you know, murdered, executed, killed in an accident, that kind of thing). The brilliance of Monarchy is that it manages to show us everything we need to know by the simple use of colour codes (including beautiful use of silver, gold and fluorescent inks) and names only. Monarchy is a beautiful and simple piece of design that imparts its information with some style.
