A tip of the hat to one of our favourite people. John Billingsley, co-founder of the Northern Earth Mysteries Group in 1979 and editor of its publication since 1991 (the first regional ‘alternative archaeology’ journal in Britain a that time), has finally put down his red pen and handed the editorial reigns over. He'll probably be out on a moor somewhere as I type, coat buttoned against a bitter headwind, walking a corpseway, and searching for the sacred in the landscape of Hebden Bridge. We wish you well John!
Issue 178 brings us further UK examples of megalithic typology, some potentially significant inter-relationships between ancient megaliths, and a performance artist with a lifelong association with landscape zodiacs and zodiacal relationships with place. There's also a lovely sign off from John.
