The new Sociotype has been inspired by thoughts of home. Inside you'll find articles (all set beautifully in the foundry's own in-house grotesk) that delve into the meaning of home that take us from the interplanetary to the microscopic.

 

Inside this handsomely printed issue, you'll find features on the idea of home under threat: disenfranchised communities being pushed to the periphery by infrastructure ideals, hostile architecture, and pseudo-public spaces, the holdouts standing firm in the face of redevelopment, and NIMBYism on a grand scale.

 

Elsewhere we blast off into a home in space, with the incredible NASA paintings of Rick Guidice, dive down into the rug to discover the housemates we'd probably not want to share our tea with, and take in the steel, lumber, glass, brick and cement elements that our the building blocks of 20th Century construction
