Tryhard is an independently published zine that explores the drive, uncertainty and joy of being an artist. Less about polish and resolution, and more about process and experience of the artist, Tryhard is a calm, conversational title that finds weight in the fragments, images, texts, and in-progress thoughts that inform these experiences.
Issue 1 invited artists to consider how creativity shifts after art school, asking for reflections on process, circumstance and external pressure, including the possibility of having stopped making work altogether. The issue presents these submissions alongside a group discussion held at the British Library, where those involved reflected on their pieces and the themes of the issue more broadly.
