This book investigates the sound patterns of the dawn chorus.
Witnessing the spectacle is all consuming, but Rebecca wondered how this mesmerising sound would could be visualised. She looked at the individual bird species that dominate the dawn chorus and used sound recordings of their bird song. The book brings the visualisations of these sound waves by the order that they join the chorus.
The stave design illustrates the individual song and the dots amplify, getting darker as the song would get louder, to see if the dots fill the page as the sound fills the trees.
