Occulture Special Edition | Undoing the Exorcism

Regular price £5.00

The Devil's, Ken Russell's unholy and provocative masterpiece, often tops the list of the great films not available on streaming platforms - this is all about to change. On Hallows Eve...eve this year, this 'blasphemous', 'barbarous' and ''despicable' piece of (wonderful) art is coming out on in a definite 4K restoration at cinemas across the land (and then, no doubt, streaming platforms).

We already know that Occulture hold the film's star Oliver Reed to their heart, and, judging by this excellently produced zine, it appears that their love for Ken Russell is just as strong.

Inside we discover the history of this profane and much censored masterpiece through editor Chiara Amendola's excellent essay, there's a series of photographs from the Shirley Russell Archive detailling scenes from the film, and, in the name of thoroughness, a list of works consulted and further reading to keep you occupied.

Printed beautifully by Leeds' own Footprint Worker's Co-op, and written with the passion of a true Russell enthusiast - Undoing the Exorcism is essential reading matter for anyone heading out to see this 'grand fiesta for sadists and perverts'.
