The Time Machine | HG Wells

Regular price £10.00

"Upon that machine," said the Time Traveller, holding the lamp aloft, "I intend to explore time. Is that plain?"

HG Wells 'The Time Machine' is a classic of science fiction literature - and now, well over 120 years since publication, it is still a tale that gives an electric thrill and hints at possibilities still unrealised. It is also a book, as the introduction states, that is 'a damning study into the dangers of class division, inequality and greed', and as such, has more relevance today than readers might suspect. It is an often odd and stylistically fascinating read and one that stands up incredibly well today, or tomorrow for that matter.

This newly published edition has been re-imagined by Leeds-based designer James Ockelford (Refold) who provides the striking imagery and sound artist Justin Wiggan who has created a streamable soundtrack that is available via a QR code at the start of each chapter. A response to the book that we're sure Wells would be very happy with.

All profits from the sale of the book will be going to charity.
