4 Corners Books continue with their Irregulars series by bringing us 'Leeds Postcards', which is our favourite so far (although we are biased). This wonderful book tells the story of the leeds-based postcard press which has produced cards of an oppositional, activist and challenging nature for four decades. Challenging what you might ask, well, as they say on their website (Leeds postcards is still in rude health) 'it was
a defiant attack against the cultural hegemony of the South!!' and took in everything from anti-nuclear protest to support of the striking miners.
Inside this brilliant book you'll find over 150 pages of defiant British visual culture, with some iconic images from artists including Steve Bell, Peter Kennard, Angela martin, Jacky Fleming and Ray Lowry.
The revolution is just a postcard away!
