After 34 years, Northern Earth finds itself being guided under the hand of a new editor, Andrew Chapman, and those hands look to be pretty safe indeed. The new issue comes in a sturdier paper stock and features colour reproductions - so off to a cracking start.
As for content, the issue will not disappoint existing subscribers - inside there are articles on people's folk beliefs that pertain to luck, modern megaliths in a Pennsylvania park, agricultural importance in post Roman Britain, the link between traditional North Lancashire dance and a triskele from The Book of Kells, and the mysteries of Dunmail Raise, a highway passing through the Lake District.
Lovely to read John Billingsley's ruminations on mysterious urban stone circles, found on a recent trip to Japan.
