Village Green's editor, Jake Waller, takes inspiration for his utopia from Ladybird Book illustrations and the 1968 album 'The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society' - which sounds ok to us. The focus of his zine is 'Farming and Rural Stuff', and the articles within lead us from our towns and cities into the patchwork greenery of the British countryside
Inside issue one, we get to hang out with Welsh gravediggers, visit three microdairies (including one in Yorkshire), meet a anti-GM activist organic farmer and a radical DIY plant breeder, nod to the makers who shod the cloggers, and chat with Ladybird Book collector and expert Helen Day.
