Inside:
To Have And To Hold is a beautifully produced publication from The Paper Bag Archive that presents the reader with selections of that most ephemeral of objects, the paper bag. We love this zine, and yes, part of that is a nostalgic response, but largely, this beautifully assembled title acts as a permanent record of the ephemeral - and something we can return to.
Issue 6 of this shop favourite (beautifully printed by Print Love in a gorgeous fluoro pink) takes us out and about to the castles, abbeys, amusement parks, national parks and dolphinariums that made up some of the high days and holidays of our youth. As a kid, the best bit of a day out was usually the gift shop, where you'd purchase a novelty eraser, a branded pencil or some other novelty memento of a day spent (hopefully) under blue skies.
Local highlights in this issue include the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, The North York Moors National Trust, Harewood House, and the Jorvik Viking Centre - but we are also whisked from the Cheddar Caves in Somerset to Balmoral castle in Aberdeenshire and loads of places in-between..
This issue comes with a great introduction from Liv Sidall which takes us back to chaotic '90s school trips
