That beautiful cover, courtesy of Baltimore Print Studio, is definitely one good reason to flip through the new issue of Uppercase, but there are plenty more inside. In an issue dedicated to ink on paper you'll find pages to help you understand print and design lingo (and know your TIFF from your PNG), insight into the printing process of colour lithography, a short history of chromatic type posters (with some stunning examples) and four colour experts get behind the C, the M, the Y and the K of... CMYK. Oh, and the work of Baltimore Print Studio is a brand new shop favourite - check them out!!
Uppercase is put together by Janine Vangool who has a keen eye for contemporary crafts. It is beautifully printed on matte stock and the spine alone is a work of art. A pleasing and collectable publication. While the magazine looks at traditional craft, it is in no way nostalgic, it looks at contemporary applications and champions modern and inspiring craft.
Design For Today has put out some of our favourite books of recent times, the most recent being Alice Pattulo's 'Print Shop, so it is lovely to see a feature article about Joe Pearson and his work.
