his is the first publication on the work of Dutch design trio Experimental Jetset and features almost two decades of their graphic design work. Bookending this fantastic title are two photographic sections, one documenting their printed output (ex situ) and the other their installation work (in situ). The layout feels intimate, as if you were rifling through the work in front of you or walking around the installations - a pin badge, a book jacket, a poster blur as you flip through. There are also 3 essays on EJ by Mark Owens, Linda van Deursen, and Ian Svenonius (yes, the frontman of Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up and Chain and the Gang!). At the centre of this compact 575 page marvel is a 130 page section titled 'An index of fragments' which contains interviews, notes and correspondences written by EJ between 1997 and 2015 (selected and edited here by Jon Sueda)
Re-print combined with the zine 'Automatically Arranged Alphabets'. This 'red' edition is limited to 250 copies.
Published by the ever innovative Roma Publications, 'Statement and Counter-Statement' is a book on design which feels like a design object in itself.
