It's a good word, and one we discover describes an architectural detail; a load-bearing structure, an arch, joining a dome to a square base. It's a fitting name for this handsome new architecture magazine, through radical criticism, fiction, poetry, long-form essays, interviews and photography, spans various aspects of our built environment.

Issue #1 takes us from suburban 'Mundania' in south London, to the city's hidden waterways, from a new proliferation of 'things in fields' to designing better new town developments (more things in fields).
