Posters From Paddington Print Shop - John Phillips

Regular price £15.00

'Posters From Paddington Print' collects together 100 examples of posters produced by the Paddington Printshop from 1974 to 1988. A community-based project which began life in a disused taxi-meter factory, this resourceful group of designers and artists worked with people to help create witty, powerful and graphically striking posters which tackled issues that focussed on housing, rights, neighbourhood initiatives, gigs and festivals and much more.

Written by printshop founder John Phillips and published by the wonderful Four Corners Books, this title is a valuable and inspiring record of a printshop which represented the voice of the local community, gave a face to underrepresented groups, shed light on a wide range of local, national and international campaigns and causes and became a model of community activism.

With an illuminating introduction to the printshop by John Phillips and a forward by graphic designers and illustrator Andrzej Klimowski, this title is a valuable addition to the bookshelf of any budding activist.

From October 11th -November 11th We have a selection of facsimile posters from the book on show in our gallery space. The posters are available to purchase but are printed to order. Please get in touch if you would like further information.
