Penny Slinger, 50% The Visible Woman

Regular price £40.00

Originally published in 1971 by Narcis Publishing, '50% The Visible Woman' brings together Slinger's photographic collage and poetry, and through her symbolic language examines how a woman is seen and how she sees herself - as a goddess, as an object of desire, and other lenses.

Slinger's work of the period was influenced by the world of dreams and myths which deeply influenced her own practice and she mined surrealism to plumb the depths of the feminine psyche and subconscious. She continues to work in many mediums including collage, photography, drawing, sculpture, and video.

This beautifully published facsimile edition, published in an edition of 1000 copies, presents Slinger’s series of surrealist photomontage works and poetry unabridged for the first time and includes a new conversation transcribed between Slinger and fellow artist and friend Linder.
