Subtitled 'Graphics from everyday life in the DPRK' this amazing book gives us real insight into the graphic ephemera of the world's best kept secret - North Korea. Nicholas Bonner's collection comprises packaging, postcards, tickets, wrapping papers, toys, bottle tops, food labels and much, much more - it is an incredible miscellanea, which dazzles with its beauty and colour. How nice to find a book which can confound preconceptions so thoroughly, especially in times like these. Deserving of our attention, this rare glimpse into the creative culture of North Korea is a treat for the eyes. With an introduction and essays throughout by Bonner (whose has travelled to the country extensively, taught at Leeds Met and also made three documentaries on North Korea), the book is also a fascinating read and insight into a country that we know so little about in a world we seem to know everything.
