There is something about launderettes that we love. Misted up windows, the figures inside, chatting and waiting, and always some great typography fading slowly on the front.
Photographer Joshua Blackburn has visited all 462 launderettes in London. All of them. The resulting photographs are much more than a selection of gaily coloured washers, dryers and coin ops, they give us insight into the life of a city. The wonderful colour combinations, the nostalgic signage, the feeling of time passing - all life is here.
