The full title of the new IdN is 'Packaging: more to it than meets the eye' and with packaging design there is certainly more to the end result than pure eye candy. As the magazine suggests, packaging is a container, protector, preserver, transporter and informer - and the 49 studios whose work is represented here all produce work with those categories in mind. You'll find beer, chocolate, ready meals, coffee and even values packaged beautifully within these pages.
Varying paper stocks, spot varnishes and matt lamination, IdN is a beautiful design magazine from Hong Kong that looks and feels as good as it reads.
'What makes good packaging design?', a question asked to each of the studios within, elicits some very interesting responses.
