Belly Full: Caribbean Food In The UK | Riaz Phillips
Belly Full is a big and joyous book that uses food to trace the story of Caribbean culture and heritage. Inside we are whisked across the UK, from London to Liverpool (via LEEDS - so great to see Maureen's inside!), stopping at 60 locations - including bakeries, cafés, takeaways, butchers and diners.
At each stop, we meet the people who run these establishments, hear their stories and memories, and, via photography from the author, get to step inside the doors.
These places are far more than mere places to eat - they are the focus of vibrant communities, of entrepreneurial spirit, of passion and drive, and of a culturally important (and dead tasty) cuisine.
