Without a doubt (according to this team), this is one of the best books ever published on the graphic design of the post-war period. 'Mid-Century Modern Graphic Design' by Theo Inglis is chock full of incredible illustrated plates from over 150 artists and designers that we LOVE.
We say 'artists and designers', what we mean is some of the greatest talents to ever wield pens and pencils - honestly, the list is mind-boggling and includes Saul Steinberg, Harry Stevens, Paul Rand, Alvin Lustig, Saul Bass, Jim Flora, Margaret Lockwood, Miroslav Sasek... and many (many) more.
Divided into chapters that cover Book Covers, Record Sleeves, Posters & Promotions, Magazine Covers and Illustrated books - this fantastic hardback from Batsford will keep anyone with an interest in this period's graphic output very happy indeed.
