Tove Jansson (The Illustrators) | Paul Gravett

Regular price £19.99

In the latest title in Thames & Hudson's Illustrators series, Paul Gravett looks at the work of Finnish illustrator (and cultural icon) Tove Jansson. The book starts with Jansson's early life, her introduction to drawing and the first publications she produced, before moving on into the 1930 which saw the emergence of The Moomins. The book then takes us on a tour through Jansson's Moomin novels, her comic strips, the illustrations she produced for literature classics and much, much more.

As with other books in the series, this title gives us access to trial sketches, preparatory designs, and even images of the graffiti surviving from Jansson's holiday home. A beautiful addition to the series and, with comic specialist Paul Gravett at the helm, a fresh take on the life and art of this incredible artist.
