Roses seem inextricably linked to these isles. Blooming over a suburban fence, buttonholed at weddings, that inevitable garage forecourt Valentine’s gift… even the bard couldn’t leave them alone. Roses are a part of our landscape, adding colour throughout fresh springs and long summers – it’s about time they got the credit they deserve.
Working with esteemed rose growers David Austin Roses and rosarian Michael Marriott, Photographer Luke Stephenson has risen to the task and created a photobook which puts this botanical icon front and centre, celebrating its beauty and diversity.
Shot against a bright blue backdrop, Luke allows each rose to display its colours beautifully, whether that be a Skylark, a Roald Dahl, or a Tottering By Gently.
