The book as archive is one of our favourite things, and this beautiful book by Atelier Editions is one of the best we've seen. Inside we get an understanding of the providence, symbology, composition and application of a selection of pigments & artefacts from The Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies at Harvard University - which holds over 2500 of the world's rarest pigments. Alongside this fascinating study, we also get to learn about the field of chromatics and the historical narratives of art and chemistry.
Beautifully published with the inclusion of 200 art plates, which display the stoppered phials, bottles and vials containing these extraordinary colour pigments.
