We are absolutely delighted to announce our latest exhibition!
‘Kirkgate Market - Illustrations & Observations’ by the very talented Cáit McEniff
For the past few months Cáit has been beavering away in Kirkgate Market, documenting its history, community and importance to the people of Leeds and the city itself.
Work from her residency, including sketches, photographs, textiles and collages will be on display within one of the stalls in the 1904 Hall.
A huge thank you to @leedsinspired for all of their support and for making this project possible. Big thanks too to @leedsmarkets for allowing Cáit to spend time in its wonderful history filled spaces and share her work under its glorious roof.
We feel utterly blessed to have seen this project come to life.
The exhibition is the beginning of an ongoing project to document the market and we welcome you to come along and record your own memories or stories and to find out more about the project. Stay tuned for more developments as this project evolves over the coming months!
The exhibition opens on Saturday 20th November at 2pm and will run til the end of the year (possibly beyond tbc).
